Scuba Diving - Seawalker Helmet Diving from Green Island on the Great Barrier Reef in Australia

The optional underwater activities include introductory and certified scuba diving tours from the island or try the Seawalker Helmet diving, where you walk on the ocean floor with a Helmet on your head and fresh air coming down to you from above via a hose connected to your Helmet.

The deeper waters off Green Island offer the scuba diver some magnificent visuals of not only brightly coloured corals but also an abundance of marine life.

Whale migration season in the months of July to August is the perfect time to be taking a tour to Green Island as the whales seem to love this place and it's not uncommon to sight them on your travel to and from this tropical paradise. Marineland Melanesia

Marineland Melanesia is currently home to 13 crocodiles, Daily feeding demonstrations take place at 10:30 AM and 1:30 PM, offering an up-close look at these apex predators in action. One of the park’s most legendary inhabitants was Cassius, a saltwater crocodile measuring 5.48 meters and weighing over 1,000 kilograms. Estimated to be around 120 years old, Cassius passed away in October 2024. In tribute to this iconic reptile, the park will unveil a new exhibit titled “Cassius Forever” in late 2025. The exhibit will feature Cassius preserved through taxidermy, allowing future visitors to witness the legacy of one of nature’s most impressive creatures.

See the sea turtles that are being looked after and rehabilitated after being rescued for boat damage, disease or net damages and other things like the ingestion of plastic bags.
