A nature-focused Daintree and Mossman Gorge tour featuring a quiet solar-electric wildlife cruise, tropical two-course lunch with exotic fruit tasting, and guided rainforest walks with opportunities for swimming in the pristine freshwater gorge.
Our small group Daintree Rainforest and Mossman Gorge wildlife tours offer a unique, personalised experience for guests.
Set out along the Great Barrier Reef Drive, taking in sweeping views of the Coral Sea as you make your way north toward the Daintree region. This nature-focused itinerary is designed for travellers who want meaningful wildlife encounters, rainforest immersion, and rich local insight.
Your first experience is a one-hour Daintree River wildlife cruise aboard a clean, solar-electric vessel. Its near-silent operation allows you to drift close to wildlife without disturbance, offering exceptional opportunities to observe and photograph Saltwater Crocodiles, snakes, frogs, kingfishers, and an array of riverbank species. Guests consistently rate this as a standout part of the day.
Lunch follows at the long-established Daintree Tea House. With more than 30 years of hosting visitors, the team delivers an excellent two-course tropical meal, often paired with an exotic fruit tasting. Outdoor seating is surrounded by rainforest, layered with the sounds of birds and flowing water.
The afternoon is spent exploring Mossman Gorge on foot. Your guide will interpret the rainforest’s intricate ecological story as you follow quiet trails through lush, ancient vegetation. Depending on interest and pace, there is the possibility to wander up to 4.5 kilometres of tracks within this World Heritage landscape. There is also time to enjoy a refreshing swim in the crystal-clear freshwater of the Gorge.
This tour balances guided discovery, wildlife viewing, and peaceful rainforest immersion—ideal for visitors seeking a deeper connection with the Wet Tropics.
