Cairns City in Tropical North Queensland

Cairns Tours & Attractions

Cairns is known as the gateway to Australia’s Great Barrier Reef and the gateway to the very important World Heritage listed rainforests of the Daintree and Cape Tribulation.

Apart from the reef and the rainforests there are so many other things to see and do in and around the Cairns region so take a peek here for more ideas on what to do on your holiday

Each year over 3 million tourists make their pilgrimage to see these two natural wonders of the world for themselves and their families and to bask in the tropical sunshine and friendliness of this laid back Queensland city.

Access to the alluring Great Barrier Reef is from Cairns and Port Douglas and an easy 90 minute boat ride out to the farthest edges for some of the most spectacular of scuba diving and snorkelling in the world. If you wanted to visit a pretty little tropical island for a day the journey is only 45 minutes on a very comfortable boat.

For those that want to experience the wonders of the Great Barrier Reef from above and below we suggest a helicopter flight out to a pontoon followed by spending the day snorkelling amongst the colourful corals and vast species of marine life.

Cairns is not a big city by any means but it offers a quaint charm of a bygone era and all of the locals are so very easy going and just love to entertain the tourists that come to visit the city.
