Snorkelling on the Great Barrier Reef

Snorkelling amongst stunning coral formations and tropical rainbow-coloured fish is unlike anything you’ve ever encountered.

And don’t be surprised if a sea turtle suddenly appears; an appearance that will captivate snorkellers of all ages!

This is the location you will also get to meet Wally the famous Maori Wrasse who just loves seeing himself in selfies.

Glass bottom boat tour

The glass bottom boat tour is custom-made for those who prefer not to get wet, aren’t strong swimmers, or are simply feeling a little waterlogged after snorkelling.

No less detailed or impressive than a diving birds-eye view, you’ll view the stunning underwater world through the glass perspex on the bottom of the boat.

View cabbage-shaped coral flowers; watch as sparkling yellow and blue parrotfish peer through the boat windows; and be on the lookout for rays or even a ribbon of eels peeping out from a coral crevice. There will likely be more marine life than you can count, and you'll find out fascinating information from an onboard marine biologist about each species you spot.

Semi-submersible submarine tour

Located one metre under the water's surface, the specially designed semi-submarine will propel you in dry comfort to get an up close perspective of Moore Reef. Enjoy thirty minutes of up-close Reef viewing in air-conditioned comfort.

As part of the onboard package, you'll also enjoy an interactive marine presentation, which you can listen to as you gaze through the windows at some of the Reef's rare marine species.

There is also a range of exciting optonal activities to choose from:

Interactive snorkel adventure (optional extra activity)

Experience the best of the Great Barrier Reef on this interactive snorkel tour. A marine naturalist will lead the tour and provide you with some fascinating facts about the diverse marine life you spot along the way, such as sea cucumbers, brilliant starfish and perhaps a sleepy ray hiding in the sand.

Introductory scuba diving (optional extra activity)

Moore Reef and its world heritage environment are all about discovery. And after snorkelling in this marine park, you might feel you are ready to expand your experience and to try your first ever dive.

We highly recommend pre-booking to avoid missing out.

An experienced instructor will teach you every skill needed for this endeavour. With an introductory dive, you are given a taste of the thrill of the world beneath the surface, diving first as a group and then separating to explore a little more independently.

Certified scuba diving (optional extra activity)

You haven’t scuba dived until you have scuba dived the Great Barrier Reef! You'll be paired up with a dive buddy of equal experience for this unforgettable underwater journey. Moore Reef offers some spectacular dive sites where you'll witness an ever-present array of unique reef fish and stunning coral canyons, spot clownfish (Nemo) colonies, sea turtles, and ‘Wally’ the giant Maori Wrasse - the friendliest fish on the Reef!

Seawalker platform helmet diving (optional extra activity)

Seawalker helmet diving is an exciting way to experience the Great Barrier Reef without getting your hair wet. No prior dive knowledge or experience is required and you will be guided on your adventure by a qualified instructor.

You will need to pre-fill out a Medical Questionairre for all underwater experiences.

Unlike traditional scuba diving, Seawalker helmet diving enables you to breathe through your nose and mouth as you would above water.

Seawalker offers all the excitement of scuba diving without getting wet and is ideal for non-swimmers.

Scenic helicopter flight (optional extra activity) - Infant age 3 must pay for a seat

View the vastness and beauty of the Reef from above on a scenic helicopter flight. This exciting and breathtaking experience gives you the chance to see the brilliant coral formations, groups of turtles, sharks and rays as you cruise approximately 500ft over the Great Barrier Reef and pass the coastline of Cairns.
