Cape Tribulation has been made famous from being the location where two World Heritage attractions meet: the Great Barrier Reef and World Heritage listed Daintree Rainforest. Your tour will begin as your coach picks you up from your Cairns/Northern Beaches or Port Douglas accommodation.
***Please note this tour operates on an alternate itinerary until further notice*** - please refer to itinerary section
Enjoy a glorious scenic drive on the Captain Cook Highway from Cairns and Port Douglas where you will see photo-worthy beach and Coral Sea panoramas.
Next you will arrive at the Mossman Gorge before crossing the Daintree River. Lunch will be served at Turtle Rock Café before you start the Marrdja botanical boardwalk.
After that it will be time to taste some unusual flavoured ice-cream locally made (extra cost). The views from the Alexandra lookout will take your breath away before your adventure continues with a Daintree River wildlife cruise (optional), your final activity for the day before returning to your accommodation.
Cape Tribulation is where the world’s oldest continually surviving tropical rainforests, meet the world’s greatest living tropical reef, the Great Barrier Reef.
Nowhere else on earth do two natural World Heritage listed sites exist side by side.
Such is the natural beauty and precious value of this truly stunning piece of paradise, that you will have ample time to explore and enjoy on this full day tour.
Commence your Cape Tribulation adventure with a scenic coastal drive from Cairns to Port Douglas.
This is the far north’s very own great ocean road and provides panoramic views over the sparkling Coral Sea.
Heading north our first stop is at Mossman Gorge, which is in the southern sector of the world famous Daintree National Park.
This gorge has been carved out by the cold mountain waters of the Mossman River, which winds through large granite boulders, bordered by lush green rainforest.
It’s a magical place and you’ll participate in a “Welcome to Country” with the traditional owners, the Kuku Yalanji people, who will also cleanse you of evil spirits with a smoke ceremony and apply traditional rainforest body paint to you.
There’s the opportunity for you to enjoy a refreshing swim in the cascading waters.
Due to the damages caused by cyclone Jasper we have amended our tour to the below itinerary.
Soak in the local culture and enjoy a genuine Indigenous experience that helps preserve and share Mossman Gorge’s rich culture and heritage.
Travel deep into stunning wilderness areas where you can swim, cruise, explore and engage your senses.

I very much enjoyed this tour. It was well organized and we had a fun tour guide (JayJay). The variety of things to see during this tour is great. I would recommend booking the lunch option.
