Day 1 Depart Cairns
Guests board our cruise ship at Cairns Cruise Liner Terminal at 4:00pm for a 5:00pm departure.
After settling into our cabins come and meet our fellow cruise ship passengers as we set sail northwards.
In the evening all the guests gather with the crew to enjoy the Captain’s welcome drinks and sit down to the first of many wonderful dinners.
Day 2 Lizard Island
Explore the secluded world famous Lizard Island, one of the most beautiful islands on the Queensland Coast, and venture into the crystal clear waters for swimming and snorkelling or take a walk along the white sand beach.
The more energetic may join our guides on a walk to ‘Cook’s Look’ on the island’s peak and the highest lookout on this part of the reef.
From this high point, Captain Cook was able to navigate a safe passage back through the treacherous waters after repairing the Endeavour near Cooktown over 200 years ago.
A photographer’s delight, the views from the lookout over the World Heritage-listed reef and surrounding tropical islands are magnificent
Day 3 Flinders Group and Davie Reef
At Stanley Island, view contact-period rock art depicting sailing ships reminiscent of Chinese junks and Portuguese galleons, and hear stories from an traditional owner of the Yiithuwarra people.
At Davie Reef and Cay we enjoy swimming and snorkelling and observe the large seabird rookery
Day 4 Forbes Island
This tiny island has few human visitors so wildlife is prolific.
Find the grave of beche-de-mer fisherman Frederick Lancaster, beachcomb on sweeping beaches and swim in the tropical waters.
Day 5 Tip of Cape York
Go ashore at the rocky northernmost point of Australia, and experience a champagne at sunrise or sunset in this special place. Have your photo taken next to the Tip of Cape York sign. You are standing at the most northern point of the Australian continent.
Day 6 Thursday Island & Torres Strait Islands
Thursday Island, or Waiben, is the hub of the Torres Strait and here we learn of the region’s pearling history.
Have the privilege of visiting the remote islands of Badu or Moa, to experience cultural performances, a local meal and the remarkable art centres (Indigenous Art Itinerary only).
Day 7 Cruising the Gulf of Carpentaria
Today is a day for taking in the sights and relaxing onboard as we cruise the Gulf of Carpentaria. Attend informative presentations by our guest lecturers.
Day 8 Elcho Island & Wessel Island - Hole in the Wall
Be welcomed to country by the Yolgnu people at Galiwin’ku and Gawa communities.
Gain insight into the Yolgnu culture, and meet local artists who have exhibited around the world.
Cruise through the ‘Hole in the Wall’ between Raragala and Guluwuru Islands.
Day 9 Maningrida
Maningrida is home to a remarkable art centre.

Day 10 Cobourg Peninsula
Discover the Cobourg Peninsula today and join local guides in Port Essington, famous for its failed Victoria Settlement.

Day 11 Tiwi Islands
Be welcomed to the Tiwi Islands with a smoking ceremony at Bathurst Island, dancing, and an afternoon tea of home-made damper and billy tea.

Day 12 Darwin

All cancellations must be in writing. Please note that all cancellations will incur an administration fee. Please see our terms and conditions for details prior to booking.
Operator’s Terms & Conditions and Cancellation Policy:
To make a reservation you have to pay a deposit of 20% of the fare.
The balance of the fare is due ninety (90) days prior to departure.
All prices are quoted in Australian dollars.
Notification of cancellation must be received in writing.
At the time we receive your cancellation the following penalties will apply:
Expedition Itineraries
- Up to 90 days prior to departure – forfeit your deposit of 20% of the fare.
- 60 to 89 days prior to departure – forfeit 50% of the fare.
- No-show to 59 days prior to departure – forfeit 100% of the fare.
Deposit Protection Plan
Deposit Protection is a scheme offered to guests our guests to allow them to book confidently and transfer their deposit payment towards any future expeditions in the event they are undable to travel on the cruise they originally booked. Deposit protection is entirely optional, can be invoked for any reason by the guest, and requires an A$110 per person fee at the time of booking.
Please note this is Not in place of travel insurance.
If you wish to activate your Deposit Protection Plan and amend an existing booking, you will need to confirm in writing to our reservations team indicating that you wish to activate your plan and then we will provide an alternative cruise at a later date.
Transfer Fees
- Date change fee made more than 90 days before departure - $500 per person fee.
- Date change within 90 days of departure is considered a cancellation and standard Cancellation Policy applies.
- A $200 per person fee is applicable for any amendments not requiring a date change after booking is confirmed.
- Applicable to all itineraries: A name change/transfer of the booking to another person is considered a cancellation and Cancellation Penalties will apply
We strongly recommend that all passengers purchase cruise cancellation and interruption insurance as protection against any circumstance which may force you to cancel or leave an expedition whilst it is in progress.

The carrier will endeavour to follow the Cruise itinerary as described in the brochure and the passenger accepts that the carrier has the right to vary the itinerary or cancel the Cruise if the carrier considers that this is necessary as a result of some Unexpected Event or prevailing inclement weather conditions and the passenger accepts that the passenger will not be entitled to any compensation or a refund of the fare paid should this occur except as is provided for in these Cruise Ticket Conditions.
All baggage brought on board the Ship by a passenger remains in the possession and control of the passenger during the Cruise and must be stored and kept in the cabin allocated to the passenger.
Please check with your nearest Papua New Guinea consulate or embassy regarding documentation required for travel to these countries. It is the passenger's responsibility to ensure they have all necessary paperwork permitting travel to these countries.
All purchases onboard will be charged to your room account and will need to be settled prior to disembarking. Payment can be made with Cash, Credit Card or Australian Dollars Travellers cheque. It is recommended guests bring a small supply of PNG Kina, Solomon Island Dollars, Vanuatu Vatu and Pacific Franc for purchases whilst ashore.
It is recommended that all passengers purchase appropriate travel insurance prior to departure. Please ensure you are covered for remote area evacuation.
The Kimberly Traditional Owners may impose a visitor pass permit in the future with the cost to be borne as an extra by the guests and will be added to the cost of the cruise.
