When guests come to Port Douglas and the Great Barrier Reef for the very first time we always recommend they see the reef from above the water’s surface on a scenic helicopter flight and then see the Great Barrier Reef on a day tour from Port Douglas.

Our 30 minute reef scenic flight leaves from our heliport just outside of the Port Douglas village with flights leaving approximately every hour.

Guests are collected from their Port Douglas accommodation and taken to the heliport for a weigh in and flight briefing.

The 30 minute Great Barrier Reef scenic flight showcases the magic of the reef and begins the flight over 4 Mile Beach, out to Snapper Island (it is shaped like a crocodile), up to Cape Tribulation and the Daintree Rainforest in the distance.

Admire the picture postcard views of the group of islands just off Port Douglas called Low Isles a very popular island for snorkelers on day trips to the reef.

We then fly low over Batt Reef a well-known place for spotting stingrays, manta rays, turtles, sharks, dugongs (many at Batt Reef), dolphins and migrating whales during the months of June to August.
