Board your private yacht charter around 8.00am and after a brief safety instruction you’re yacht captain will begin your sailing adventure at 8:30 a.m. with a departure from the Port Douglas Crystalbrook Superyacht Marina. After a leisurely sail, you’ll arrive at Low Isles by 10:00 a.m. for a snorkel briefing and a morning tea featuring homemade cakes. The day includes a tropical buffet lunch onboard, time to explore the coral reefs around Low Isles, and opportunities for snorkelling in pristine coral gardens, before a relaxing afternoon sail back to Port Douglas, arriving at 4:00 p.m.

A private charter yacht tour to the Great Barrier Reef can begin with an 8.30 a.m. departure from the Port Douglas Crystalbrook Superyacht Marina.
Should you require coach transfers can be booked from your Port Douglas holiday accommodation, along with coach transfers from Cairns and the northern Beaches for a fee.
The boat ride from Port Douglas to Low Isles takes approximately an hour and a half, with a 10 a.m. arrival at the sheltered, idyllic lagoon where guests will receive a snorkel briefing on the private charter yachts front deck.
Before Low Isles is reached, passengers enjoy morning tea which consists of tea or coffee and scrumptious homemade cakes.
Low Isles is an exquisite Great Barrier Reef location, and the reef tour offers visitors the opportunity to experience this little slice of paradise themselves.
The reef surrounding Low Isles comprises itself of 150 species of hard corals and is dominated by 15 species of soft corals.
This visual snorkeller’s feast plays home to an astonishing array of reef fish including Angelfish, Damselfish, Anemones, Giant Trevally, Sweetlip, Fusiliers and lots of giant Green Sea Turtles.
Manta-rays are sighted daily, as are harmless black tip reef sharks.
If you’re private charter guests are lucky enough they may even get to see the gentle giant elephant of the sea - the Dugong grazing on these lush sea grass beds.
Birdlife also varies on Low Isles – from Pelicans, to Honey-eaters, White-Breasted Wood Swallows, Mangrove Kingfishers, Reef Egrets, Sea Eagles and Ospreys – all may be encountered at the Port Douglas Low Isles coral cay. V

Taking the Island Heritage Walk is a ‘must do’ whilst visiting Low Isles. A notably historic part of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park, Low Isles was named by Captain Cook in 1770.

A 200 hectare coral platform consisting of a small coral cay, a lush vegetated island, seagrass beds and coral reefs.

The mangrove island is called Woody Island and is uninhabited aside from an array of bird species.
Was a base for a year long scientific survey studying the structure and ecology of the surrounding reef commencing in 1928. This was the first in depth study of a coral reef anywhere in the world and many current theories are based on its findings.
Weather data has been collected from Low Isles since 1887.
