Personalisation - Our nature tour groups are small, allowing us to share our knowledge in a more intimate environment, and quality time to answer any questions you are most likely going to have for us about this wonderful part of the Cairns and Tropical North Queensland Wet Tropics.
Our small groups also enhance our nature and wildlife interaction.
We are Eco-Friendly – And on our Daintree River Cruise, we choose to cruise with a solar electric boat operator which is a clean, green way to explore the Daintree River.
The vessel is quiet, which is perfect for wildlife spotting, espcially the pre-historic crocodiles!
Why the afternoon tours are best - We travel in to the Daintree Rainforest National Park when other day tour operators are heading out.
This in turn, provides us with peaceful trails and deserted beaches.
The afternoon is also the only time to observe what we call, the ‘nature shift swap’.
This is where the rainforest animals that are active during the day become more excitable at dusk, right as the nocturnal creatures come out to play!
Nocturnal Night Walk – This Daintree Rainforest night walk tour is extra special, in the fact that it is only one of a few that allow a nocturnal night tour in the “Oldest continually growing rainforest in the world, at night!”
12:30pm – Pickup in Cairns
Experience the magical Great Barrier Reef Drive heading north on the region’s most scenic coastal highwa y. Observe the changes in habitat diversity as we get closer to the Daintree T ropical Rainforest.
2:15pm – Arrive at Solar Whisper Wildlife Cruise
Here we will take you on a river journey along the beautiful Daintree River where we do our first lot of wildlife spotting.
This is a 1 hr experience on a quiet, clean solar electric boat with zero environmental impact.
Get closer to nature... hear, smell & experience without noise & fumes.
Afternoon tea included prior departure.
We have a 99% success rate for spotting crocodiles, it is also a great location for bird watching opportunities and other wildlife such as snakes, frogs, fish and bats.
4:00pm – Daintree Rainforest
Here we enter the lands of the local Kuku Yalanji Aboriginal people while taking in the beauty of the pristine rainforest, crystal clear streams, towering mountains and freshwater valleys that are an amazing sight to see.
This area of tropical rainforest spans 120,000 hectares, making it the largest tropical rainforest in Australia.
We traverse along a number of tracks to witness the complex ecosystems in this World Heritage area.
And if time and weather permits, we will take a refreshing swim during the summer months.
5:00pm – Cape Tribulation Beach
From several lookouts, we will have you witness the afternoon lighting over the beach, which is spectacular at this time of day.
We usually spend an hour exploring the natural beauty of this coastline.
All from a valley that resembles a giant amphitheatre with a semi-circle of mountains featuring the magnificent Mt Sorrow (850m) and Mt Hemmant (1000m).
6:00pm – Dinner at Whet Restaurant
Whet Restaurant combines the natural surrounds of the rainforest with its unique and casual atmosphere.
It is located right in the heart of Cape Tribulation, and aptly named to “whet your appetite”, the delicious range of cuisine on offer at Whet Restaurant combined with its rainforest ambience is sure to please.
7:00pm Night spotting in the Northern Daintree Rainforest
A night walk in the rainforest is truly a unique experience.
Quite different to an experience during the day.
As many of the local native Australian wildlife has adopted a nocturnal lifestyle to avoid to heat of the day in the tropical climate.
Therefore more active and easier to spot.
9:00pm – Depart Daintree Rainforest
This is the time to relax in the comfort of our modern vehicles for the journey back home.
We return across the Daintree River on the Cable Ferry, where you will get back to your accommodation ready to browse through the photos of your day.
We can assure you will have plenty of photos to go through with all the photo opportunities presented on our day.
