You will be able to explore the activity below the surface of a freshwater river amongst a tropical rainforest not far from the Daintree National Park.

This is a great half day tour from Port Douglas that suits adventurous folks looking for something different. It's also a great tour for cruise ship passengers whose boats are berthing off Port Douglas.   

Cool off in the crystal clear waters of Mossman River while you snorkel drift along with the river current. This is a relaxing way to take in the Daintree Rainforest on a half day tour without too much walking. Just drifting!  

Snorkel equipment is provided for you to see what goes on under the surface of a freshwater river. View the flora and fauna of the rainforest while floating along with the sun shining light beams through small openings of the rainforest canopy top.

There are 33 species of freshwater fish that live in the Mossman river. However, there are rare bird species, reptiles such as Water Dragons, plus the elusive Platypus, Turtle, Eels and Butterflies that live in this rainforest too. So be on the lookout on your journey.

Itinerary

8.40am/9.15am: Pickup Port Douglas/Mossman accommodation

9.15am - 9.20am: Drive to River Snorkelling site

9.20am - 9.35am: Get outfitted with your wetsuit and snorkeling gear; wetsuit shoes and snorkel mask

9.35am - 9.40am: Short walk through rainforest to the river

9.40am - 11.50am: Starting with a safety briefing and swimming test, spend the next 2-hours drifting along and exploring the crystal clear waters

11.50am - 12.10pm: Remove wetsuits, and safety gear. Dry off while enjoying light snacks before heading back

12.10pm - 1.00pm: Drive back through Sugar Cane country, arriving in Port Douglas/Mossman/
