Convenient Planning

  • Our Cape Tribulation beach horse riding tours are closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year’s Day, and throughout February.
  • Total tour duration is approximately 2 hours, including transfers from most local accommodations in Cape Tribulation.
  • Self-drivers should arrive at the Jungle Surfing Adventure Centre, allowing ample time for travel from Cairns (3 hours) or Port Douglas (2 hours).

Preparation and Requirements

  • A very strict weight limit of 95kg is enforced to ensure the welfare of the horses.
  • Minimum age: 10
  • Participants exceeding the weight limit may be unable to participate in the half day horse rides, and refunds are not provided under these circumstances.
  • Recommended attire includes long pants and closed secure footwear (no thongs/flip-flops).
  • Essentials to bring along include a camera, towel, sun cream, mosquito repellent, and a change of clothes, as this all-weather activity might get you a little wet.

  • Self drive: meet at stables, 3831 Cape Tribulation Road, Cape Tribulation, QLD 4873. Please arrive 10 minutes prior to complete paperwork.
  • Customers can self-drive to the stables, making sure they are at the stables 10 minutes before the tour, or customers can be collected from their resort in Cape Tribulation, making sure they are waiting outside the resort reception 15 minutes before the tour.

Duration

Our tour duration is 90 minutes, allow 2 hours for completing disclaimer forms, helmet fitting and saddling up. Our tours run daily and cater for the beginner market. After being paired with a suitable horse, you will be introduced to your guide who will give you instructions and lead your tour

Restrictions
  • We strictly follow the weight limit of 95 kg for our horse’s safety and customer comfort. Customers will not be able to ride and no refunds will be issued for customers over this weight limit if you have not been in touch with our team prior to riding. Thank you for your understanding.
  • We supply an approved helmet with a hair net and a rain jacket if raining. All saddles are equipped with water bottle holders for water bottles up to 1L in size. We have a selection of riding boots, with disposable socks, should the customer be wearing shoes that are considered unsafe. Our horses are well treated and maintained, and all have a friendly nature as do our tour guides. Guides are equipped with UHF radios and first aid pouches.

Additional Information
  • Emphasis is placed on safety. We supply an approved helmet with a hair net and a rain jacket if raining.
  • Saddles are equipped with water bottle holders for bottles up to 1 litre, and bags are supplied for phones or small cameras.
  • We have a selection of riding boots, with disposable socks, should the customer be wearing shoes that are considered unsafe.

Long pants are recommended for safety and comfort and enclosed shoes are mandatory

This was a fantastic experience. The guides were amazing and really focussed on safety and enjoyment we took our Six year old on this and they went out of their way to make she she had an amazing time. I would recommend this to everyone as a must do experience
