We offer two rides, a mid morning one at 11.00am and an afternoon one at 2.30pm

Who Can Horse Ride?

From first time horse riders to the very experienced, everyone is catered for here on our Cape Tribulation beach horse riding tours.

Please note all riders must remain at walk.

The skilled staff will match a friendly, well trained horse to suit your abilities and assist you throughout the tour if required. 

Closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year’s Day and the month of February.

Extra Information

Allow a full 2 hours for the horse riding tour including transfers (transfers from most Cape Tribulation accommodation only). 

Self drive: meet at Jungle Surfing Adventure Centre, 2 Cape Tribulation Road, Cape Tribulation, QLD 4873. Please arrive 10 minutes prior to complete paperwork.Please allow 3 hours from Cairns and 2 hours from Port Douglas.

Maximum weight limit is 102kg or 16 stone. 
We strictly follow the weight limit of 102 kg for our horse’s safety and customer comfort.
Customers will not be able to ride and no refunds will be issued for customers over this weight limit.

What To Wear & What To Bring?

• It is advised to wear long pants for more protection
• Closed secure footwear, no thongs (flip flops) allowed
• Take your camera and towel (this can be carried on your ride)
• Sun cream and mosquito repellent
• A change of clothes, this is an all-weather activity you may get a little wet on your horse ride

Departure Instructions

• Self drive: meet at stables, 3831 Cape Tribulation Road, Cape Tribulation, QLD 4873. Please arrive 10 minutes prior to complete paperwork.
• Customers can self-drive to the stables, making sure they are at the stables 10 minutes before the tour, or customers can be collected from their resort in Cape Tribulation, making sure they are waiting outside the resort reception 15 minutes before the tour.

Duration

Our tour duration is 90 minutes, allow 2 hours for completing disclaimer forms, helmet fitting and saddling up. Our tours run daily, with a minimum of 2 riders and cater for the beginner market. After being paired with a suitable horse, you will be introduced to your guide who will give you instructions and lead your tour.

Additional Information

• Emphasis is placed on safety. We supply an approved helmet with a hair net and a rain jacket if raining.
• Saddles are equipped with water bottle holders for bottles up to 1 litre, and bags are supplied for phones or small cameras.
• We have a selection of riding boots, with disposable socks, should the customer be wearing shoes that are considered unsafe.
