Day 1: Discover the Great Barrier Reef

Jump on board our newly built luxury catamaran and speed off with us to snorkel and scuba dive Australia’s Great Barrier Reef from Cairns. We only carry a maximum of 120 guests on our multi-level air conditioned boat and we will have you in the water in around 90 minutes after leaving Cairns.
The boats skipper will choose two perfect coral reef locations to spend the day based on the current weather conditions to ensure you get to enjoy the experience.
Enjoy the use of our state of the art snorkelling and dive equipment and for the non-confident swimmers we have flotation equipment to keep you buoyant in the water.
We will spend 5 hours exploring these 2 coral reef systems and during that time you will enjoy some good food on the Australian barbeque luncheon along with some refreshments.

With a maximum of 16 passengers on board your personal rainforest tour guide passes on their extensive knowledge of the rainforest it’s, flora, fauna, wildlife and stories about the regions indigenous people the Aboriginals who have lived here for many thousands of years.
Highlights of the Daintree Tour are the Daintree River Cruise where we go on tour with a professional river guide to find some pre-historic animals such as Crocodiles and Cassowaries. On this informative tour you will see magnificent birds that are both migratory and permanent residents along with butterflies, snakes and lots of other native Australian wildlife.
After a short break and light morning tea we place the four wheel drive on the river barge and head up into the depths of the Daintree Rainforest stopping off along the way at scenic lookouts for photo opportunities.
We take guided walks along the elevated rainforest boardwalks with our rainforest tour guide and learn all there is to know about this region and the Aboriginal people that call it home.
We pet some native Australian animals as our tour guide is preparing our Aussie barbeque luncheon and then jump back on board and head to beautiful Emmagen Creek on the famous Bloomfield track for a swim in the pristine mountain water.
It’s then time to head south back towards Cairns and along the way we stop off at Cape Tribulation Beach for a stroll and make our way up the hill to the scenic lookout where we can see where two World Heritage Listed sites meet, the Great Barrier Reef and the Daintree Rainforest.
Our treat for you on the journey home is a stop off at the Daintree ice-cream company where you can taste some locally crafted ice creams that are made from the exotic tropical fruits grown on the property.
Then it’s back on the Daintree Ferry barge and down the Great Barrier Reef Drive towards your holiday accommodation in Cairns.
Departing from Cairns on our custom built four wheel drive vehicle with your personal naturalist guide, we track up the mountains towards the Atherton Tablelands as we head to Dimbulah and the Chillagoe Caves.
Along the way your naturalist guide will point out places of interest and even spot native Australian wildlife that may just miss your not so trained eyes.
Your first stop will be at Dimbulah where you will have some morning tea refreshments and you can take a look around at this historic little Australian town.
As we enter Chillagoe you will see the towering limestone karstes scattered around the township and then we delve into the history of the Chillagoe copper smelters, whose old chimneys dominate the landscapes western horizon.
After we spend some time here exploring the remains of the once mighty smelters we head off to a true Australian Outback Pub for some pub grub! (That means lunch).
Once we are all refreshed and have hard a yarn or two with the local yokels it’s time to meet up with the Australian National Parks tour guide who will be taking us thru the amazing labyrinth of the Chillagoe Caves.
These caves date back to some 400-420 million years and were once part of the Great Barrier Reef. This area was once the inland sea and all that remains of the ancient coral reefs is in these hidden limestone caves.
With millions of years in the making these underground caves are nothing short of simply spectacular and well worth seeing!
During the day we will visit the Aboriginal Rock Art and the Balancing Rock and if time permits we can do a bit of souvenir shopping in the gift shop for some Chillagoe marble and local Aboriginal artworks.
On the way back to Cairns we take a rest stop at Dimbulah and try some tropical fruits and then it’s onto Granite Gorge to meet some of the local wildlife who like to nibble on the treats we bring along to tempt them out of hiding.
