  • The Daintree River: we cross this mighty Tropical Far North Queensland river via a vehicle ferry, many people regard this as a highlight in that you’ll get to see first hand the size and beauty of this awesome river.
  • Captain James Cook Monument: this is an historically significant site as it commemorates Cook’s landing site on the Endeavour River. Cooktown is the only place in Australia, aside from Botany Bay, where Cook’s crew came ashore for any length of time.
  • The Iconic Bloomfield Track is regarded by many as one of the “must do” 4WD journeys & accordingly is on many people’s bucket list. You’ll get to enjoy part of it in our air conditioned, purpose built 4WD coach!
  • Lions Den Hotel: enjoy a cold drink at this historical pub established since 1875.
  • Grassy Hill Lookout: arriving in Cooktown, you can’t help but be taken by the stunning beauty of this charming settlement. We’ll head straight to Grassy Hill Lookout where we’ll enjoy an amazing panorama of Cooktown, the Endeavour River & also the Coral Sea.
  • Black Mountains: having left Cooktown, on our return journey via the inland, outback route we’ll stop at the mysterious Black Mountains. Formed as a result of an enormous volcanic explosion some 200m years ago, it is quite extraordinary, Having said that, legends & stories abound, you decide!
  • Palmer River Goldfields: it doesn't take a great deal of imagination to understand the harsh realities faced by the early pioneers and miners back in the day. A stunning landscape contrast to the coastal rainforests we travelled through earlier. We’ll stop for a number of classic photo opportunities.
