From Cairns Marlin Marina you will be travelling in style to two beautiful reef locations on our 20 m luxurious cruiser to Upolu Cay and the Wonder Wall on Australia’s magnificent Great Barrier Reef.

First we will visit Upolu Cay and take a glass bottom boat tour and do a bit of snorkelling and then move on to the " Wonder Wall" which is simply an amazing coral reef shelf that is teeming with a great variety of marine life and colourful corals we guarantee you will love it! Our Great Barrier reef tours from Cairns first snorkel location is Upolu Cay which is a naturally formed pure white sandy coral cay situated 30 km from Cairns and is easily reached in around an hour and a half cruising time.

As you look on the horizon you slowly see the white sand rising and glimmering in the sunshine before you and that is just an amazing experience to see this beautiful sand beach smack bang in the middle of the Great Barrier Reef and the most pure beautiful blue and aqua water surrounding the cay. (sand cay not visible on King tides)

All of our guests will be the first foot prints for the day on Upolu Cay as we are the first tour boat to arrive in these protected shallow waters.

Put on your snorkel gear jump in and start enjoying the cool inviting waters so you can try and spot green sea turtles, sapphire star fish and the abundant marine life habituating this marine wonderland.

All guests are invited to participate in an informative glass bottom boat tour with a Marine Naturalist all around the outer reefs from Upolu Cay and become familiar with the names of the different coral reef formations and the different marine life that inhabit each different coral structure.

Your second snorkel and dive location is where you will spend most of your day; the Wonder Wall is a spectacular reef site thriving in reef and marine life.

A really truly wonderful snorkel and dive experience located on the outer edge of Upolu Reef.

All of our guests come up from the water with a look of amazement on their faces after their first dive or snorkel at this location.

They just have to swim back to the boat and tell us what they have seen and then they are gone again.

It’s here where you are served a sumptuous buffet lunch of smoked salmon, prawns, chicken, cold meats; salads and breads on board in the air conditioned saloon. (special diets can be catered for with advance notice)

After you have eaten you still have plenty of time at this fantastic location to snorkel around the boat and for the more adventurous try your hand at a drift snorkel tour with a marine interpreter who will take you along the stunning Wonder Wall in a dingy to the very outer edge of the wall where you jump over board and drift snorkel back to the boat under the supervision of the very experienced crew.

Dive & Snorkel Tours Cairns - Introductory And Certified Scuba Diving

This is definitely the Cairns reef trip to try your hand at scuba diving for the first time as we pride ourselves on your enjoyment and safety whilst diving the reef so if it is your first time we offer a guaranteed 1 dive master to 3 guests but mostly 1:2 and sometimes even 1:1 for those guests that are really not so sure.

Most of the other Great Barrier Reef tour boats offer a 1:4 ratio for their guests to learn to dive so we can assure you this is definitely the best boat if you want to try an introductory dive but are very nervous.

The crew will never ever rush you or tea bag you as we like to call it in the industry, they take you along slowly but surely and are proud to show you the depths of the Great Barrier Reef and the Wonder Wall.

Certified divers are assessed and offered a free guide to the most amazing swim throughs and walls maximizing the most pleasure out of their dives then they are set for their day of exploring.

On leaving this magical place the boats crew, serve you fresh tropical fruit to refresh and hydrate you.

Half way back to Cairns they bring out the cheese and biscuits, and you can choose to purchase a refreshing cold drink, glass of wine or icy cold beer to accompany this.

• Certain medical conditions and medications may preclude some people from scuba diving.
• Participation is subject to a medical questionnaire completed on board with the tour operator
• Minimum age for scuba diving is 12 years.
• Flying after scuba diving: a wait of 12 hours is recommended after one dive, 18 hour after 2 dives and at least 24 hours after multiple dives, before ascending to an altitude of 300 metres or greater.
