Lake Barrine a volcanic crater lake was formed 16,000 years ago and now is home to many species of freshwater marine life and surrounded by dense forest.
Join the Wildlife Cruise for a local guided boat ride around the perimeter of the lake before indulging on freshly made scones jam and cream with locally grown tea or coffee.
Follow your guide on an elevated boardwalk to see the impressive 600 year old Curtain Fig Tree, this site is also home to the Lumholtz Tree Kangaroo that may be spotted in the tree tops.
Your tour will continue on through small characteristic towns of the tablelands before reaching the famous Millaa Millaa Falls.
One of the most photographed waterfalls in Australia it is also the perfect spot to have a quick dip and cool off in the refreshing natural pool.
After a gorgeous drive through rolling green fertile hillsides and World Heritage Rainforest, your tour will have reached its lunch destination, Mena Creek.
The tour ventures south to Mena Creek’s Paronella Park, a definite highlight of the day. Local staff will welcome you and provide a 30 minute guided tour around the park’s gardens, castle ruins and relay the story of Jose Paronella and the magic he created in the 1930’s.
Wildlife and plants species are abundant here at Paronella Park, micro bats can be spotted in the tunnel of love and you’ll be able to view many species of butterfly, birdlife and freshwater creatures.
