Just 45 minutes from the mainland by fast ferry, Green Island makes the Great Barrier Reef accessible to every type of traveller and every budget.

Your All in in a Day Reef & Kuranda combo tour package begins bright and early. Check in is at 7:45am at the Cairns Reef Fleet Terminal before boarding the fast and comfortable Great Barrier Reef vessel. At 8.30am the boat pulls away from the pier and you are on your way to a fantastic day of snorkelling and scuba diving!

By 9.30am you will find yourself disembarking onto the jetty at Green Island, where turtles like to lurk in the shadows and the water is so clear you can already see the many fish species that call the Great Barrier Reef home.

Over the next two hours you will have time to snorkel or do the glass bottom boat tour, depending on your nominated choice.

You can laze around on the beach, browse the boutiques, go for a swim in the pool or off the beach, or even add on an extra activity like visit the largest crocodile in captivity at Marineland Melanesia.

Make sure you are back at the jetty before 12:00pm, when your return vessel departs and brings you back to Cairns Marina.

Skyrail Rainforest Cableway Gondola Ride To Kuranda Village

After your return from Green Island to Cairns, you will be picked up in our comfortable transfer coach and taken to the Skyrail gondola terminal in Smithfield at 1.45pm.

The journey takes around 20 minutes, moving through Cairns surrounding farm land and outer suburbs. Once at the Skyrail terminal, you will be given your tickets, and very soon you will be on your way for the ride of a lifetime over the giant treetops of the world’s oldest rainforest.

The Skyrail journey covers a distance of 7.5kms, and takes around 45 minutes. However, there are two stops included along the way that serve to give you a unique insight into the rainforest and geology of the area.

The first you will come across is Red peak Station. Here, a free 10 minute guided walk takes place on a 100 metre long boardwalk by a qualified ranger. Your guide will be able to answer any questions you have, and point out the more unique features of this special environment.

While the guided walk is not compulsory, you do need to disembark still as the Skyrail line ends, and another line begins at this point.

The second stop takes place at Barron Falls, where several lookouts offer a fantastic opportunity for photographs.

The gondola carts sit just above the tips of the trees, where a chorus of birdsong will follow you as you glide over the trees, before arriving in the quaint little rainforest village of Kuranda where

After disembarking from the Skyrail station in Kuranda you then have some time to take a look around the village and then it’s back to the Skyrail terminal for the journey back down.
