Cairns Liveaboard Snorkel & Dive Accommodation and Facilities

This Cairns liveaboard dive boat was built to accommodate up to 14 snorkellers and scuba divers in twin bunk and shared bunk bed cabins.

She is a 20m motor sailing schooner with a nearly indestructible fiberglass hull.

She is a comfortable sailboat, well suited for the adventurous budget minded traveller looking for a cheap liveaboard dive trip rather than a luxury seeker.

Characteristic to sailboats, the liveaboard cabins are not overly spacious or very private, their main purpose is to provide a place for a rest and sleep so that all guests spend top side in the tropical sun and out snorkelling and scuba diving on the reef.

Oh and of course fresh linen is provided to all cabins so no need for bringing your favourite pillow you can use ours.

The common socialising areas of the boat include an open saloon area, galley and both covered and open outdoor decks.

12V dc and 240V ac power supply available for charging cameras, you’d be surprised how many pictures you will take whilst both on deck and underwater on the Great Barrier Reef!

And as an added luxury there are separate male and female toilets and shower cabinets for your privacy with hot water on board.

Snorkelling Enthusiasts

As a snorkeller you will get to explore some of the most amazing reef sites on the outer edges of the gorgeous Great Barrier Reef in Queensland Australia.

Our boat takes you to the Outer Barrier Reef systems known as Thetford or Moore Reefs to spend time at up to 4 breathtaking snorkelling sites.

These coral reefs are the best due to their great coral coverage which supports a huge variety of marine life.

There are many sites suited perfectly for snorkelling where there are shallower spots and depth to the top of the reefs range from less than a meter to 3m dependant on the weather and tides which enables you to have just as good a time as a scuba diver down below does.

On these beautiful reef systems you are more than likely to encounter friendly sea turtles, clownfish, barracudas, black tip and white tip reef sharks, mantarays, stingrays and various clams.

All of which are friendly of course as long as you respect them.

Moore and Thetford Reefs both have amazing varieties of both soft and hard corals to discover and in turn each of these supports a different variety of marine life making your snorkel trip very interesting indeed.

Optional Extra Activities Offered On Board - Introductory Scuba Diving Deal - Buy 1 get 1 FREE

If you have always been a little bit curious about what lies beneath the ocean’s surface, now’s the time to find out.

As a snorkeller you will have an opportunity to try introductory scuba diving, this is an optional extra and needs to be prebooked, which allows you to discover the depths of Great Barrier Reef within your own comfort zone.

No experience necessary!

You will be briefed on diving and you will need to fill out a Medical Questionaire before being allowed to suit up and dive into the water.

Please ensure you are aware of the medical restrictions attached to underwater activities - Medical Conditions

Our reef guides will make sure that you are confident with every little step you take below the surface and once you feel more in your element you can let go of the safety rope and follow your reef guide down to lower levels under the water to discover things you have never seen before.

Scuba Diving Great Barrier Reef Queensland Australia

Certified scuba divers will have up to 6 opportunities to dives some of the most spectacular sites on the Great Barrier Reef.

Visibility ranges from 3m to over 20m dependent on the time of year, weather and tides, with maximum depths from 10m to 18m.

Our Cairns 2 day 1 night liveaboard dive trip is excellent for those who have just received their open water dive certificate as well as for those with a little more experience in being out in the open sea.

Thorough dive briefing is given during the journey out and everyone is ready to jump in the water to begin snorkelling and diving by the time they get to the first site on the first day on the outer reef.

Divers are all buddied in pairs and can follow the dive leader to allow more time to relax and focus on the beauty of the Great Barrier Reef before them.

For those scuba divers with more experience it is not required to follow the dive leader and they can dive with their buddy from the start.

This is great news as dive levels and experience levels are fully catered for but safety and security is still a high priority.

Sailing Boat Tour Great Barrier Reef

Although it would be slow and unpractical to sail all the way out on the first day to the Great Barrier Reef (considering only 2 day 1 night timeframe), we will set the sails and let you enjoy some cruisy and relaxing sailing during your trip so you can lay about on the boats deck and take in the sunshine and scenery.

Sailing of course is also always subject to weather conditions.

Cairns Private Charter Diving Expeditions on the Great Barrier Reef - Dive with Sharks

Our dive boat is also available for Private Charter expeditions for groups of up to 14 divers and snorkelers to the remote Coral Sea and Ribbon Reefs in the northern reaches of the reef system to do some scuba diving with sharks.

4 day 3 nights expeditions to Holmes Reef, lying around 166 kilometres outside the Great Barrier Reef and the 3 Day 2 nights Ribbon Reefs exploration, 185 kilometres north of Cairns. Due to their isolation from land run off and pollution the reefs have incredible visibility and abundant large pelagic fish and this is where we go scuba diving with gams of sharks.

Scuba diving expeditions to the northern reaches of Australia’s Great Barrier Reef are the legendary places you read about and hear about, and the places only a few thousand scuba divers and snorkelers have the chance to see each year.

Sir David Attenborough says the Great Barrier Reef is one of the world’s most bio diverse and magnificent places he has ever visited and that we all need to contribute to preserve it for humanity and for the survival of all of children’s future.

Diving in these outer reef system areas is excellent all year round. Visibility reaches 50 metres plus and is rarely any less than 30 metres.

Very few of these reefs have ever been fully dived, surrounded by depths of 40 metres, offering one of the best wall and drift diving opportunities you will ever experience.

Also available for Coral Sea charters and extended liveaboard trips north to the famous Cod Hole.

Perfect private charter boat for Scuba Clubs or "get your mates together" as each itinerary is customised to suit your group.
