Join our Cairns day tour to see rainforests, waterfalls, Platypus, turtles and taste all the exotic food items on the Atherton Tablelands. If you are a foodie and you love getting out into the lush countryside then this Cairns food tour is for you.
We will ensure your day in the Cairns Atherton Tablelands will be one to remember for a long time. We will visit breath taking waterfalls and take a swim, see impressive lakes, lush rainforest and rugged outback and enjoy amazing food from the region.
A day tour visit to the mountains of the Atherton Tablelands promises to be one of great contrast, beauty and exploration.
Our popular Atherton Tablelands food and nature trail tour has now become one of the most highly sought day tours in Cairns.
With our small group of only 16 – 20 passengers we cover a lot of ground on our one day Cairns tour and see so many offerings from Mother Nature and get to enjoy so much of the yummy food that is produced right here in the mountains of the Atherton Tablelands.
Most of the food produced on the Atherton Tablelands is exported all over the world due to the regions glorious year round temperatures being simply perfect for growers and producers.
Experience the best of the Cairns Highlands, exploring the high-country west of Cairns city, sampling local produce and seeing the quirky little townships along our merry way.
Departing from Cairns we make our way 500 metres above sea-level and drive out of the rainforest and onto the multi-cultural village of Mareeba and award winning Coffee Works.
Travel on through banana plantations, fields of sugar cane, and through the townships of Tolga and Atherton enroute to Herberton Historic Village.
Enjoy a selection of local tropical fruit and a cheese platter with a nice cup of billy tea.
We then make our way to beautiful Millaa Millaa waterfalls for a nice swim and some time relaxing in the forest.
It’s then time for a delicious lunch at the Smokehouse Café and time to enjoy the epic views of the scenic drive along the Great Dividing Range.
We then walk into the forest to see the 500 year old Curtain Fig Tree, one of Australia’s oldest trees.
We finish our last visit at the Humpy Store where guests may purchase local goods for the journey home and to enjoy on your hotels balcony with a drink at sunset.
