What To Do Over Easter?
Posted on January 21, 2015 by Sophie Tabouel
The hot cross buns are already available for purchase so it is not too early to think about Easter!
The big question is what to do in Tropical North Queensland Paradise for Easter Long weekend?
If you want a relaxing holiday by the beach, snorkel the Great Barrier Reef or explore the Rainforest then the Cairns region is what you are after!
Experience two of the world’s most stunning heritage sites!
The Great Barrier Reef:
Seeing the Great Barrier Reef should be on everyone’s bucket list. There are so many ways to see the reef… You don’t even have to know how to swim, platforms have under water observatories, semi submersible and glass bottom boat tours. You can make most of your Reef trip by selecting a boat trip where you will be able to visit sevaral Reef locations in one day. If platforms and boats are not suitable why not try an island day trip: some suggestions are Frankland Islands, Green Island and Low Isles. To get a better understanding of the Great Barrier Reef, it’s size and diversity you HAVE TO do a scenic flight!
Cape Tribulation is where the Daintree Rainforest meets the Great Barrier Reef, position yourself between luscious rainforest and glistening coral, and follow the boardwalks through the dense rainforest.
If you want an adrenalin filled holiday try white water rafting, we have several great locations to choose from: Tully River, Barron River and Russell River with some half day options so you can packed more activities during your Easter break.
Feeling braver? Try a Bungy Jump at AJ Hackett’s Cairns, challenge yourself with a 50 metre jump into the rainforest or strap yourself into the Minjin Jungle Swing.
Cairns Zoom has a thrilling ropes course that the kids will love! There is also a wildfife dome the whole family will enjoy as well.
Then for the ultimate adrenalin rush why not jump out of a plane? Skydive over the mountains and land in the cane fields or follow the coast and land on the beach from 14,000 FT.
After an activity the whole family will enjoy? Try ‘Breakfast With The Birds’ followed by a crocodile attack show at Hartley’s Crocodile Adventures… or maybe even cuddle a Koala at Cairns Tropical Zoo!
Cairns it is then! The options are endless in sunny North Queensland, Easter time is coming into our most beautiful time of year and Cairns will be filled with activities, markets and live music down the Cairns Esplanade, so many things to do and see and what a beautiful place to spend your Easter Holidays!
