How Does Jungle Surfing Work?
If you are a bit nervous of heights then this just may be a way to help you overcome it. Jungle Surfing Canopy Tours are run by highly trained rainforest tour guides and abseiling professionals and they are with you all the way swinging thru the tree tops from platform to platform.
At the harnessing centre you will be fully kitted out in a full body harness and a lovely helmet and given a pre-tour safety briefing. After a 250 meter walk you will be hoisted up one by one to the first platform of which there are five. At each platform a guide will meet you and hitch you up to the next tree, tell you a little bit about the Daintree Rainforest region you are in and then send you on your way zip lining to the next platform.
For the couples who want to stay together you will be zip lining in pairs from platforms 1 to 2 and 2 to 3 so make sure you take your camera to get those great shots of each other flying thru the trees.
Midway between platform 3 your zip line will stop but do not panic as it's on purpose so that you can take in the scenery at the highest point of the tour at 23 meters above the Mason Creek which is spectacular in the Green Season when it's a raging torrent.
When you get to platform 3 and 4 you will be flying solo and flying fast so a Tarzan or Jane cry is an absolute must when on this section. If you have now found your comfort zone and are prepared to try out a few backward flips then section 4 to 5 is for the thrill seekers and action men to give it a blast. All in all you will be on your flying fox zip lining thru the trees for around 1-1.25 hours with plenty of time to take in the magnificent views of your surroundings and from pick up to safety briefing, flying and drop of back to the Boardwalk Café around 1.5-2 hours.

Jungle Surfing Adventure Tours Departure Times Half Day Tour
Jungle Surfing tours depart The Boardwalk Cafe on Cape Tribulation Road at 7:45am, 8:45am, 9:45am, 10:45am, 12:30pm, 1:30pm, 2:30pm and 3:30pm every day except Christmas Day and New Year's Day.
Are You Staying in Daintree Cape Tribulation Accommodation?

If you have your own rent a car then meet us at The Boardwalk Cafe five minutes before your bookings pick up time and we will take you in our vehicle to the harnessing area on our private property.
Getting There
You can choose to self drive to Cape Tribulation which is located 104 km north of Cairns along the Captain Cook Highway. On arrival at the Daintree River take the barge across the Daintree River. The Daintree River Ferry operates continuously between the hours of 6:00 am and midnight each day (with the exception of Christmas Day and Good Friday). Beyond the ferry crossing two wheel drive access is possible as far as Cape Tribulation, although high clearance is useful. The meeting place for all self drivers is The Boardwalk Café which is 45 minutes drive time north from the river to Cape Tribulation village and next to PK's Jungle Village on the main road.
Please note pre-bookings are absolutely essential as we are in an area where there is no telephone reception and we have frequent times of the day when we are fully booked.
Self Drive Bookings
Please ensure you give yourself two and a half hours travelling time from the Palm Cove and northern beaches region and at least three hours from Cairns just in case of any hiccups on the road or the Daintree River Ferry crossing. Just head north along the scenic coastal Captain Cook Highway towards Port Douglas and then Mossman, follow the signs to Daintree and Cape Tribulation National Park. Take a right hand turn at the sign Cape Tribulation National Park and Ferry Crossing. The ferry operates from 6 am to midnight and costs approximately $20.00 return per vehicle.
